Scottish driftwood with shell from Selsey

I found this piece of wood full of contradiction. It is totally straight but then has a curve in it. It is totally solid but then has a hole in the curve. It is cylindrical from top to bottom but also has a spike at the top.  I found that the  shell with the hole complemented the opening in the wood and linked the top with the base which has the shape of a conical shell.
